You saw this coming, a 34 year old, Socialist, elected Mayor of New York City....And say what you will, it is a direct result of the economy.
( I don't know why, but it reminds me of Germany between the two world wars. The political system was dominated by the far right and the far left. The Nazis and the Communists often clashed in the streets. I can write a 1500-2500 word essay just playing on this topic......Might do it later.)
Things like this happen when the economy "Ain't so good."
They just do. And when it comes to elections, everything else that people believe in is thrown out the window.
Gen Z....The Millennials, the system ain't working like they were promised.
Go to college, get good grades, get out, get a job.
What they have gotten is high student debt, inflation, no jobs, no prospect of jobs, housing costs out the roof. Most can't even find a life partner.
And don't tell me it isn't so bad. Again, in this area, right now, it is an anomaly. It is here for a bunch of folks, but just because it has not hit you, doesn't mean it does not exist.
Several people wrote me after yesterday's blog. All were worried about their jobs. At least two were worried about health insurance and their job.
One was concerned about the banking system collapsing.
Target has said that people..." Have just stopped buying."
Kraft-Heinz is saying that people are......." Not buying staples," which includes their Mac and Cheese.....People are buying the generic, store brands. People are not buying catsup. Or mayo. Or mustard. And if they are, they are buying the cheapest.
Already there are people in the economics world calling this the "Great Depression 2.0."
I am not panicking, but I am worried, very worried.
If you are reading this and want me to go into conspiracies concerning this realm, in the blog, let me know. I generally try and avoid them in the blog, never mind, personally, I go to the dark side from time to time.
