So, We've Come to This?

I am shocked and at the same time, not shocked at the number of young people wanting to leave the U.S. on a permanent basis.

As many of you know, our son left for Asia and lived in both South Korea and China for varying periods of time....And his last trip, brought back a Chinese wife.

And we are not surprised he came back to America, she seems to like it here better.

And we will not be shocked if they returned to Asia. Japan, Singapore, perhaps even China.

You really need to mindset to go to a foreign land and stat, and yes, we have looked, but you know, right now, Europe, specifically the UK is not doing too well themselves. We may have been better off that we stayed here in Texas.

That said, the economics of the situation here in America, well, it ain't so good.

-Amazon is looking at replacing 600,000 workers with AI in the near future.

-There has been a 20% increase in the number of foreclosures in America.

- The price of a turkey is now up 24%.( From last year.)

- Private businesses have been laying off 13,500 people a week on average, the last 4 weeks and they expect that number to accelerate.

- They are telling people that AI could replace 40% of American jobs.

- Economists keep saying this will be the worst Christmas in years, with lower sales for retailers.

- And businesses are starting to lay-off their recruiters( headhunters).....If that is the case, they do not plan to hire anyone.

- All, this, and the stock market remains at record levels. It makes you wonder when the economy will reach it....Or perhaps it won't?

I know, and the thing is, in Europe, it really isn't any better.

I am concerned more and more about what people are going to do.......I can see UBI at some point in our future. If there are companies making stuff, who will be around to buy, if everyone doesn't have a job?

Probably won't write again until after the holiday. Maybe this weekend? Sooner, if news happens.
