For those of you not keeping up with the war between Russia and Ukraine.....It seems Ukrain has blown up someplace between 20 and 41 of Russia's nuclear bombers. This is a major part of their nuclear defense.
These were in areas thousands of miles from Ukraine.
It seems drones were smuggled into Russia in what in Europe/England are called lorry trucks, the equivalent of what in the Southern U.S. we would call an 18-wheeler.
Then, using the Russian cell-phone service, the drones were flown from these trucks to the sites of the bombers and the drones, which were one-time suicide in nature crashed into the tires being used to camouflage the planes from high-tech of the modern world, causing the tires to be set ablaze, burning so hot, the wings on the planes melted off, causing fires to spread to the rest of the aircraft.
Experts are saying even if the Russian economy could afford it, would take 20+ years for Russia to rebuild aircraft to replace those that were destroyed. Presently, the Russian economy is not in good shape. So, maybe 30-40 years?
Russia is not the only nation that should be waking up and paying attention. Large military items around the world are now proven to be easy targets, hugely expensive whilst being highly vulnerable, and conceivably obsolete in modern warfare. There's not a defense ministry around the world that shouldn't be studying Ukrainian military strategy and methodology. ( If this was not dreamed up first by a Western intelligence group and given to Ukraine....Say British intelligence...)
Think how vulnerable American B-52s and B-1 Bombers are now how exposed to terrorist attack by say Houthis from Yemen using as they have been described, " Flying Lawnmowers." ( Drones)
Trust me, terror groups are thinking about doing this to American military infrastructure.
And presently, so far, Russia has done nothing to respond.
