And So It Begins

 They have announced that Lion Elastomers , the old Firestone plant on Chemical Row in West Orange ( Orange) is closing at the end of 2025. 

Rumors have been around for at least 2 years that I know of Lion closing their doors. 

I know at least 100 Lion employees and they are not saying how many contract workers will be laid off.  

I wonder how many of these guys were/are close to retirement? 

A friend of mine who is now in consulting, he has a MS in Chemical Engineering. Told me that they are probably not the only ones looking at lay-offs, if not total closure in our area.  

I am telling you, the economy is not good folks.....
