I have not celebrated Halloween since well, sometime in the 1960s.
In high school 50+ years ago, I just don't remember it being that big a deal. Of course there were thugs causing mischief, but they were few, even in Vidor.
I bought some candy for the first few years when we moved here to Lemonville. At the time there were some kids living next door and I halfway expected them to trick-or-treat.
They did not.
Here is the grand total of trick-or-treater's we have had.......
Zero.
I've stopped buying candy years ago and don't intend to buy any this year. ( The damn prices of candy now will lead to sticker shock. )
And I am to the point I refuse to watch any modern horror movie. It is like they are doing everything to "out-do" the last horror flick.
And because I have almost 30 hours in Church History.......
I know today is the 508th anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his 95 Thesis to the church door in Wittenburg, Germany in 1517.
He started Protestantism....Without him there would be no Presbyterians, Methodist, Baptists....etc....etc....etc....
You Christians should know this.
All of you.....Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, I now include Orthodox because there might be one reading this now.
But Halloween?
