I had a number of you wanting me to tell you who the young lady was who I went out with circa 1977.....I can't and you know that.....
I may give some hints however....
I received over 100 messages and mail concerning the last blog, I don't generally receive that many. I can't hardly get y'all to even like my blogs/posts.....And I seriously wish more of you would....Then again, it would let me know who actually is reading.
I received a bunch from men readers concerning "What they would have done...."
-" You were more disciplined than I was...."
- " Free pussy....Come on Mr. Thomas..."
- " I would have tapped that and not looked back...."
- Suck my dick? Yes and thank you....What is wrong with you?"
Then, I had one questioned my sexuality
- "Are you gay?"
And then I had a couple who understood....
- "I would have, but the next morning, would have gone to the doctor...."
- " No, I would have waited.....She may have ben in the church the next Sun....."
I received this question....
-"Why did she take off her shirt?"
And I thought about that later and have 3 answers
1. She didn't want to mess it up getting "cream" on it at the end...
2. She was proud of what she had and want me to see ( It was dark however) ....Or want to give my hands something to do....I am a breastestes man....Turkey Breast....Chicken Breast.....Other breasts....And any size....Big, tiny, average....Some guys like big butts, round butts, thighs, tummies. some guys "big 'uns" as they were called in the day....Any size, shape, fascinated me....I know, TMI...
3. Part of the experience? ( I don't know where I am going here...)
And, I got this.....
- It was my Mama weren't it."( It wasn't but it was near the same time frame.)
Then, there was this...
" I bet you did think the Buna girls were a bunch of hoes...." (Until I started to teach y'all, I had questions...)
There were at least 3 that said this in different ways....
" You shoulda dated her, a practice girl for the girl you really liked...." ( I almost, well did like this one, she was just too wild for me....)
I only had a couple of girls I dated for brief periods after this one, and one, from Orangefield, well, she was set up with me by her brother. When I went to kiss her goodnight, she turned, and went into the house. I lost my balance and fell off the porch into their Azalea bushes, and almost impaled myself.
Her brother asked me a few days later why I had not called and asked for a second date? Tim ( The brother) said, " She really like you..."
Like today, it was hard to find a girl who would even go out with you, and well, history majors were often strike one, two and often three, even in the 1970s.
Today, I can't even dream of what a hellish nightmare the dating world might be in 2026.
It was after this I went into my monastic phase and did not go on a date for 2 years.
I even found literature from an Anglican Monastery near Dallas( It was with the college catalogs on the first floor at John Gray Library.) I considered living at for a while. Picking peaches seemed like something with a newly minted history bachelor's degree and no prospects of a spouse might seem like worth a seeking for a period of time. Prayer and contemplation seemed good choice for at least a period of time with no real goals.
And concerning the not " going for it" as one person wrote me concerning the young lady who offered me the sexual companionship......
I got lucky and it work out. My now wife, literally was looking for a man without any sexual experience. And as she told me, she'd just have to take my word for it. And on the honeymoon, she found out how inexperienced I was....As was she....Again, an excuse to....Practice....practice....practice....
One of those, at the time, with the girl from Buna, seemed like well, it'll never happen again.....But good things happen to those who wait.....Or at least in my case it did.....
