Former Students of Mine at Buna High School....I Don't Know

 In the last few weeks, well,  I've been reading a lot of items about a large number of you. 

And for some of you the ole Govteach is somewhat surprised. 

Actually, not really. 

So many of you are working hard, getting certified. Working on degrees. Going back to grad school. Getting new jobs. Getting promotions. ( Grad school is a killer ain't it. I know in my field, the reading alone....Well, I read 20,000 pages one semester for a seminar on Victorian England. And idiot Kerry Thomas wrote on a 19th Century religious movement within the Church of England, unless you had gone to divinity school, well, no one knows of....)

And I know, you got kids, you got work, you got to cook supper....Mow the grass.....Scrub the commode. 

And you are wearing yourself out hustling, taking that next step.  

You do not know how proud I am of each and every one of you. 

I had a former student write last evening, and tell me about getting qualified to work in a new field....and they said, " It's only...."

No it is a big damn deal. Your job you are about to do is important.  

Very important.  

I brag on y'all still. I've said it for years, Buna, while in a rural area has some bright folks. More than people outside Buna understand or know. I brag on y'all still to the pukes down in PNG/Nederland/ The West End snobs. 

My Buna kids are just as smart , if not brighter, a lot brighter, than those snooty Port Neches people....( I married a PNG girl, and moved her to rural Orange County, and she's gone, well, hillbilly.She didn't have a choice, she married some one who while he pretends to be someone, well, he has bad hillbilly tendencies.) 

I've felt the need recently to pray hard for my ex-students. All of you. I think right now, we all could use some prayer.  

Again, very proud of you. I don't think you know how much I really am....
